Out & Back Run Co. is for people who run for the love of it.
An out-and-back is the simplest route there is. You run out as far as feels right, you turn around, you come home the way you came. No loop to close, no lap to finish — the distance is whatever you decide it is, and you decide it mid-run. That felt like the right name for what we make.
The story behind the store is a common one. Out & Back is a one-person shop, run by a runner who spent years chasing races and times — right up until the joy ran out. After about a year away, the running came back on its own terms: slower, easier, with walk breaks and coffee stops and nothing to train for. The shirts came out of that second chapter.
Everything we print celebrates that kind of running — the slow miles and the rest days. And every shirt goes on the Comfort Colors 1717, a heavyweight garment-dyed cotton tee built for years of it, because devotion doesn't need a countdown clock.
If you've ever taken a walk break and refused to feel bad about it, you're who we had in mind.
